So it’s just a lazy saturday afternoon, hangin with my puppy, listening to sleighbells (new fave), and trolling the internet for inspiration for my new show. For no apparent reason other than curiosity, I decided to google image search woman and man and see what came up. Here is the first image for each search. Funny how google just about nailed the whole point of this upcoming show in 2 seconds flat.
BTW my new show opens at Intermedia Arts on August 19th, and is called Sideshow. 8 Minneapolis-based women working in and inspired by hip-hop explore themes of a woman’s place in hip-hop culture and how most of the time that is a voice struggling to be heard. We will be transforming the gallery into a circus of hip-hop creations made exclusively for this show. Get ready, this is going to be my best yet.
